The World Soul
According to several systems of thought, Anima Mundi – The World Soul – is an intrinsic connection between all living things on the planet, which relates to our world in much the same way as the soul is connected to the human body. “This world is indeed a living being endowed with a soul and intelligence … a single visible living entity containing all other living entities, which by their nature are all related.”
About Anima Mundi
Anima Mundi Trails are a multi-use Trail Network on private land at the top of Gaspereau Mountain less than a 10-minute drive from Wolfville. The trails are managed by the Annapolis Valley Mountain Bike Association and are provided through the generous support of the land owners – Glenn McMullen and Angela Melanson.
As you meander through the Acadian Forest you’re bound to encounter seasonal favourites like woodcocks, owls, snowshoe hares and plenty of flora. The forest is a magical place full of fauna and flora and if you’re lucky you may spot a forest gnome (smile). Be sure to bring along a camera and tag #animamunditrails on Instagram or Facebook for a chance to win an Anima Mundi Photo Calendar.
A tight, twisty trail with some great flow in places make this a primarily intermediate level mountain bike trail but also good for beginners with a good skills base to improve their handling abilities if they are willing to put in the time. Improved flow comes with increased familiarity when using these trails. There is very little in the way of climbing and many of the trails have the feel of a pump track, rolling up and down on the small mounds that make up the terrain. A large map sign is found at the trail head and smaller maps are placed on trail at various intersections.
